I am a problem solver and pain reliever, which requires more than a general light-touch treatment. My thoughtful approach focuses on you, listening and understanding to provide highly effective sessions tailored to your specific therapeutic needs.
Compassion for your personal motivation to move and feel better, paired with my analytical and problem-solving skills, make me uniquely qualified to design a session specifically for you. This can mean spending an entire session focusing solely on one problem area to thorough, stress-relieving full-body work, or any combination thereof.
Also, as a certified personal trainer with a specialization in corrective exercise, I aim to help you learn to move out of your pain issues. Based on my assessment, and what I find during treatment, I often recommend “homework” in the form of exercises, or self-care, so that you can take your therapy into your own hands and improve faster.
Your Role
You are highly encouraged to take responsibility for your progress by:
Making ergonomic and/or postural changes I suggest
Doing homework to address trigger points and soften fascia
Training muscles to work more effectively by performing recommended exercises
Ultimately, increased compliance leads to decreased pain.
Am I the Right Person for You?
Over three decades, I have learned that the best therapy requires enhanced finesse and sensitivity. My approach may create some “therapeutic pain,” which is that “hurts so good” feel you get when someone (finally!) finds and works on the source of your pain. My extensive experience has taught me the fine-tuned skill necessary to optimally give you the best experience possible in improving the condition of your muscles and fascia.
However, some people are highly sensitive, and require a lighter style of therapy. I ask clients to communicate honestly about this; and if necessary, I can refer to another qualified therapist, or suggest a different modality.
Finally, while I am incredibly proud of the pain relief I have delivered, there are problems I cannot resolve. Under all circumstances, I recommend seeking a physician’s counsel, and if I feel that an issue is beyond my abilities or scope of practice, I suggest options such as seeing a physician, chiropractor, personal trainer, physical therapist, etc.
